Sorry Fiesta, you only have two weeks left to live!

My Ford Fiesta failed it's pre-M.O.T the other day and it's only got around 2 weeeks left on it's current M.O.T unfortunatley.
It's going to be too expensive to repair, so am going with my dad tommorow to sneak a peak at an auction at Beverley. I am looking really just to buy something for around 150 gbp. I know that sounds daft, but I only need something to drive thats M.O.T'd until the end of the year (as that is when I'm next on my travels, but more of that later), and I reckon I'll be able to get my hands on something, even if it is a box.

The infamous bird singing

Turned out, it wasnt busy at all at work last night. Infact, we didn't have any customers whatsoever, so we shut up the restaurant early and went back to a guy from works house for a pizza and a few beers. Have only just got back now as i slept over. Well, i say slept over but only really got about 3 hours sleep as finally got to bed at around 6am. I got involved with some lengthy philosophical discussions, of the kind that are alcohol induced. The only thing that I hate about a debate on the subjects of politics and religion, is that it always seems to end with someone agreeing to disagree.

The highlight of the night was watching a couple of dvd's. I Finally saw Tom Cruise's Collateral. Was quite entertaining and I thought fairly well produced and directed. Tom cruise did well too and Jamie Foxx wasn't too bad. Am so tired, I really should get some sleep before work. I've got around 2 hours until I got to leave so might have a power nap after I've messed around a bit editing with the site.

Actually, before I go, I will shine some light onto the reasoning behind the title of the blog. Why is it that the sound of the birds singing at around 4.30am when i'm still up from the night before make me feel so bad after a nights drinking? I think it reminds me of sleepovers when your in your early teens with your mates and you feel so naughty because it's light outside and you've stayed up so late.

Finally officially qualified!

God, it's taken so long. After my six months in France, working in the alps as a pot wash in a hotel, I decided that I wanted to rise in the ranks of the kitchen.
When I got back I decided that I'd take an NVQ lvl 2 in Cooking and Food preparation. After all, surely it would be a great job travel with.

That was just about 1 year ago, and today I finally finished my final assessment which makes me a qualified chef, which feels quiet weird to be able to call myself that. The year has been a long hard slog but have managed to learn not only some kitchen lessons but also some massive life ones aswell. I suppose you could say the move to do the course was my first real proper stab at trying to establish some kind of career track.

Anyway, turned up to college today to finish a couple of things off that needs to be done so that I can receieve my certificate in a few weeks. I'm off to work in around 45 mins so i'm just going to go out for a quick run befored I vacate for a possible busy night.
